After good vibes and decent reviews, I've ordered Sacred 2!
I've been itching for several years for a true sequel to the Champions of Norrath Games for PS2, which I sunk uncounted hours into, and still never managed to play all the classes.
I may have fond memories, but my wife would say otherwise. Every now and again when she finds herself irritated by a game I'm playing (or the fact I'm playing a game), she mutters "I need more mana!" Yes, Champions of Norrath, and it's sequel Return to Arms, were derivative of Diablo, but this was irrelevant. I've never actually played Diablo, so the entire concept of hack and slash, while not new, was done to near perfection. The item creation system was itself a highlight, insuring that you would likely never duplicate the same weapon on a subsequent play through. Classic stuff.
Now, while I wait for S2, I have major decisions ahead of me, the first being: which character class shall I start out with? Oh the decisions!

Did you end up getting this game? I can't remember seeing you play it at all, and stumbled upon this post. I see it's in your collection, but how far in did you play? Did you like it? Says Silver but... You were also overly hard on Shooter, so..

I hated that this game was so broken

@CyanXVII: works fine for me... They patched any issues I had early on.

@Dana Olson: Yes, I did end up getting it and wound up putting in about 5 hours or so. Haven't touched it in awhile but have been meaning to get back to it at some point. Solid game, from what I've played.
@CyanXVII: I never really experienced the technical issues that you and others have referred to, aside from some minor slow down. Nothing game breaking, in any event.

@Brian Kamm: let me know if you wanna do some co-op sometime. I just need to know what level to be, and I can make a character and catch up if I don't have one pretty close to you.

Whatever you choose, if you wanna get into a co-op game, you need to be aware that the Seraphim and Inquisitor can't mix, as they are hard-coded good and bad, respectively. Other than that, I can say I'm playing a Dryad and do not like her combat arts / spells... So I use ranged and melee weapons.
I bought Sacred Gold today for Linux ($18US) from TuxGames. I might never play it, since I don't like PC games, but just in case I want to, now I'll be able to.
