I don't know if any of you have heard, but Middle Tennessee was pummeled with storms this past weekend, and they brought massive flooding. The town I live in is elevated enough to have suffered little to no flooding, but I work in West Nashville and it has sustained major, major flood damage. Most of Nashville has. The water has steadily been flowing out of the area (the water level dropped about 4 ft. overnight), but it's flooding everything in its path. There are two major rivers that are overflowing and causing all of the damage, the Harpeth and the Cumberland.

These are a few pictures that I took of the Harpeth on Saturday, after being blocked from getting to work, because the road ahead was washed out. The water is usually 15-20 feet below the bridge. People canoe this area regularly. The bridge has since been destroyed by currents.

It's been very difficult to find good footage on YouTube (or elsewhere) of the flooding, but here is some very limited aerial coverage of the area surrounding where I work. Half of the town of Bellevue looked like this yesterday.

Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to embed this video, but if you follow this link, you'll see some footage that ends with a shot of the theater where I work (or worked).

This weather has been insane. The flooding in Nashville is awful. We got lucky in East TN, we didn't get all the rain. I hope things turn out alright man.
