So I am now among the ranks of the unemployed. Had a very nice afternoon out with my co-workers yesterday, with a good meal and otherwise nice parting (as good as these things can be).

I have a penchants for charity work, which is not the pathway to fat sacks of cash. There again, I tend to prefer interesting, beneficial work than making lots of money for its own sake (though I have heard good reviews about this "money" thing).

Strangely, there's a fair number of postings in my area in either (or both) of my areas of interest/expertise: community development & volunteer management. I'll take this as a good sign.

In the meantime, I ought to be able to make a tiny dent in my gaming backlog, right? I certainly won't be adding to it in the very near future ...

That's a very positive attitude. Good luck in your search and yes money doesn't make happiness but it sure as hell doesn't hurt.

@Colin McFedran: I'm currently in "hope for the best; plan for the worst" mode. We'll see how it goes ...

I know how you feel we set ourselves back a lot trying to help save the company we were forced to leave last week. Its sad to be losing daily contact with people you spend as much or even more time with than your family of course you always know who'll be there if you need them. Good luck in the hunt I'm sure you'll do ok.
