Lately, I've been infuriated with the excessive use of bloom in some of the games I've been playing.
Thinking this was a function of screwing with my settings on my HD tv, I toned down the brightness & back lighting and mostly corrected my issues except for some of the worst offenders.
No matter how I cared to fiddle with the in-game brightness toggle for Planet Mini-golf (demo version) I could feel myself going a little more blind with each stroke. Acck.
Burn Zombie Burn is a bit of an oddity in this regard. The darker settings I tend to prefer with my displays make the game nearly unplayable. Cranking up the brightness gives the characters an unappealing glow, and the bloom from the flames is annoying.
A quick google check suggests that I'm just a little slow in picking up on bloom issues, and the overuse of bloom in the industry over the last few years.
On a side note, I'm curious as to what sort of settings people have for their HD tvs (for those who have them). I find myself constantly tweaking things, particularly around the game side of things. Movies (DVD or BR) tend to look pretty good, but I never seem to find that optimum set up for the games side of things.

I hate the over use of bloom, especially when developers use it to compensate for not optimizing draw distance.
