So I am currently in the process of moving , I purchased a house in the country. I have had to pack away a lot of my things and am left with only my hdtv and ps3 connected in my living room. My sony IS10 surround sound speakers are packed and ready to move to the new house. So I sit to enjoy some demons souls and what happens next is beyond adequate description. A noise comes from my television unlike anything I have heard in years... a flat sound devoid of tone and depth... a noise so vile it can only be described as its technical name PCM 2 channel sound. Gone are the backup vocalists, gone is the bass, all the deep tones and midpoints vanished, DTS has evaporated.
Please don't let this happen to you, never pack your speakers up before you need to.

We recently hooked our PS3 back up to our JVC surround system and, wow, what a difference. inFamous was the first game played with the new setup and it was pretty incredible.

Surround I think makes the biggest difference for games(pretty much everything), try out Battlefield BC2 and you will know what I am tawkn about.

My (admittedly crappy) surround system died last month and left me with the internal speakers of the TV who were blaring out, to borrow freely from The Hitchhiker's Guide; something almost, but not quite entirely unlike sound. I think at that moment something inside me shrivelled up and died and I turned off the system.
One surge protector and a fuse later all is well - or at least, as well as can be on a Logitech Z-5500 system.

I think my next big purchase will probably end up being a new surround system, unless of course I have to buy a new vehicle. The one I have is pretty decent, but I could always have something better.

lol, I hear you, man. Sound is generally more important than graphics, for me. I could watch a movie that looks like blobs on the screen but with crystal clear sound, but give me 1080p visuals and a muddy or tinny audio track, and I can't take it. I love my Denon...
