This is a "song" I "wrote" yesterday after finding out my grandma passed away.
Original title was Ten Seven Twenty-One, but I changed it to Broken Angel for a few reasons.
I know, it's got a lot of issues, but I did everything in one take each, because I wanted to preserve my exact emotion how it came out. Actually, it wasn't even going to be a song originally, I just started recording some random drumming without a metronome.. But then I added the right guitar and then the lead and then the left, and finally the bass. And then I remembered that last night, my wife dropped a ceramic statue accidentally and it broke on the basement floor. I took the music-playing piece out of it and kept it, and I used it at the end of this song.
I used my uncle's Japanese Squier Strat for the guitar tracks, not sure why. I usually use my Jagmaster these days. I guess because it's his mom, and so subconsciously I gravitated toward it? I don't know.
Anyhow, it's been a rough day. My grandma's birthday would have been Saturday, but they didn't want to put the funeral on her birthday, so instead they put it on mine.

Sorry Dana that sucks. Pretty cool recording though strat sounds good. The music box part worked perfectly for the vibe I think. When the lead kicked in it reminded me of this (3:50-ish).
Also the snare sounds a little more loose than usual which I am a fan of.

Thanks guys.
@Brian: there's no other way to hit drums.
@BamBamBoozled: I am ashamed to admit I never heard Local H before. They sound cool, though... And yeah, the mic is on the bottom of the snare in this track (Stabbacker too). I'm not sure if I prefer it on the top or the bottom head yet.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Liked the track, and have dl'd it. Liked the contrast between the meandering pacing, and what sounds like you hitting the drums pretty hard (could just be my ears).
