Well, I've barely begun my holiday shopping at the moment, and already these gaming deals, from 2 for 1's, to bonus gift cards are draining the finances. It's bad enough that normally I have a fairly substantial backlog of games still sporting their cellophane jammies, but during the holiday shopping rush the guilt gets doubled or so.

More 360 Slumming

In my so far brief ownership of a 360 (about 1 month), I am very pleased to report that it has yet to red ring! Though it can't be a good sign that at initial boot up whilst idling, it sounds louder than my PS3 does after several solid hours of gaming.

After working a half day, I managed to find an HMV in Brantford with a sealed copy of the currently elusive Demon's Souls. Hoping to get a little time in with it this weekend, although I suspect that may be difficult unless I find a way to play Motostorm: Arctic Edge at the same time. Maybe if DS has long load times ... hmmm.

One of my b-day presents finally arrived-- a 500 GB HDD for my PS3 (MGS4 80 GB bundle version). Landed it through the tech business we deal with at work. They provided me a great deal at under $140 (with tax)!

We blazed off to the in-laws late Thursday night due to a cancer scare. Fortunatley, what was thought to be a definitive diagnosis (and the reason for running), was in fact not so definitive. PSPgo Thoughts -- UMD to DD

I've been thinking some more about the PSPgo, and more specifically, the UMD to Digital process Sony has to implement in order to make this 4th PSP iteration work. This program is going to be a costly one, no matter how Sony proceeds. Factor in that depending on how Sony manages this, there may be a flood of used PSP games on the market.

Hating my Sony Home Theatre

I'm pissed. My Sony 5.1 setup, an STR-K900 if you're keeping score, has an on again off again relationship with it's rear Right side speaker. Sometime it works, other times it doesn't. There seems to be little rhyme or reason as to what's going on, other than a loose wire. When I've taken various components in for repair, they haven't been able to replicate the problem! Ahh.
